Bluetooth Chess app good for
Game is pretty good, the bishop and pawns are simillar, still different enough though... More distinquished pieces would be better. One thing I noticed is that the game allows you to move your king into check (then it can be taken to end the game) this will need to change in future versions... Still, Its a sweet app that allows you to play over bluetooth, just make sure you understand the rules or you may have an inaccurate game due to the king being able to move into check error (no undo feature).
its the only Bluetooth Chess game I found though... If your on the fence, get it. Im happy with my decision, now me and my brother can play at work.
I feel the game needs the following in future versions:
*Bishop/Pawn more distinquished
*King should not be able to move into check
*Needs an undo feature
*A chat interface would be nice to have, so you can talk with your opponent and play
other than that...
THANKS NEOTIQ, GAME IS SWEET!!
Get this app for free!! Download the app Shopkick and use the promo code otter2192 to create an account and get 100 points towards a $15 iTunes gift card. No catch!!!
Some bad moments
It has a great interface and connection is made without a problem , however there are many bugs such as illegal moves are allowed etc. ( u can move king to a check position urself if u want to) and when opponent threats ur king u can let it eat ur king which is impossible. I ll remove this comment when they fixed these bugs. Till then do not download
A1 on the first device is black but the same square on the second device is white!! WTF?
Connectivity and starting the game was easy. But the bishop is marginally bigger than the pawns and nearly impossible to tell apart....makes gameplay useless. PLEASE fix this!
Update:
The new version doesnt help. The bishop and the pawn still look alike, and you can barely see the white peices on the white squares.
I propose the following corrections:
1. make the peices clearer to see (making them smaller and thinner does not solve this problem.)
2. You should be able to choose if you want to be white/black.
3. King should not be able to move to a check position.
4. Undo button is a good idea.
I kind of wish I never bought this app, I kind of want my money back. Total waste of $1.99 a candy bar is better value. (No offense)
Original Comment:
Ive been searching for a Bluetooth Chess app for years, and was very excited (probably like yourself) when I found it. Sadly, I was disappointed. The fact that I paid $1.99 for this is only adding salt to my wounds. No matter how hard I try, the whisky isnt drowning my sorrows away.
The other comment is 100% "spot on" as my country-mean like to say. The Bishop and the Pawns are so similar that it is difficult to tell them apart.
In addition, or additionally as it were, the game allows a player to move the king into a "kill" position. Which isnt right, you should not be allowed to move into a "kill" position, and instead be forced to move into another position (or move another piece) so that the King isnt killed. The whole point is to get a "Check Mate".
Perhaps this is the whisky talking, but I do not appreciate the way this game is currently made. I think it needs some serious review and if that is not in the cards then a 100% (or at least 50%) refund should be given to all people who bought it - which appears to be just me and that other guy.
I hope this helps. One last note, the graphic are quite horrible (so bad its worth mentioning twice).
I think the maker of this game owes all chess enthusiasts (like me and the other guy) a sincere appology and perhaps a hug. The damage is done, and we all just need to figure out how to move on with our lives... whisky doesnt help, but Im hoping Voka might.

1. Graphics are not good. Pawn/bishop size issues and piece dimensions/colors could use a major redesign.
2. Allows moves into (/not out of) check. Okay, "live king", no big deal. Could have an on/off feature for this if anybody likes playing "live king"
3. No takeback/backup feature. This would be handy in the case of #2 (although "pass" works to correct this).
4. Cannot castle queenside. ...I didnt check "en passant", but Im not holding my breath.
In general though, this app does exactly what I bought it to do; it allows me to play chess w/another iPhone user over a bluetooth connection. Would give it 4 stars if all of the above items are corrected, but its a 2 for now. I will keep the app if issues are corrected. I will probably delete the app and buy another app (should another come out) if the issues are not corrected.
Doesnt even follow the rules of chess. King can move into check, cant castle, graphics are terrible. I would have deleted it, if it had been FREE.
